I wasn't aware until after reading the book of the authors personal life and opinions, but it makes sense as every male character in this book is either a druggie, a slacker, emotionally stunted, a pervert or simply just stupid whilst all the female characters are martyrs and heroines. Blindsighted was an enjoyable thriller focusing on a maniacal serial killer and efforts to solve unspeakable crimes. The characters follow such obvious stereotypes, the plot is thin, the characters one dimensional, its blindingly obvious who the killer is and full of cliché. I'm certainly not the target audience for this book. This was recommended to me by a colleague but it was an error of judgement on their part.
